Work on 20th Century Fox’s Gambit movie has been moving quite slowly without a single word from the production after the film’s lead star, Channing Tatum, told fans back in July that he and the studio’s team were working on the project.

Now, it seems like the film’s might be delayed even further with Tatum opening up to the HeyUGuys about how the team decided to rework the script and start from scratch after some creative issues with the previous write-up.

"Now we’re really getting to do some of the things we’ve always wanted to do with the script." the Hollywood star revealed. "We’ve just sort of started over."

"I think we got lucky," Tatum said, looking at the bright side, "We got hit with some setbacks and it was all for a good reason. We were trying to do something completely different. We were trying to do something that this genre of movie hasn’t seen before. We kept running into the same problems, and then Deadpool and Logan came through and kicked the doors down."

While this might bog down production, it seems like 20th Century Fox and its team are trying their best to deliver a great Gambit story. Fans don’t want a half-baked movie, especially one that they’ve been waiting for years to see.

Gambit doesn’t have a release date just yet but we’ll update everyone as soon as we get word.
