Ben Affleck Says He’s “F*Cking Ape” To Be In The Batman

Last week, word had it that Warner Bros. was actually planning to transition Ben Affleck's Batman out of the DC Extended Universe after The Justice League and fans begun speculating that it might have to do with the Hollywood actor losing interest in the franchise.

Affleck's disappointment over the decisive reviews of Batman v. Superman were quite apparent last year, and though audiences loved Affleck's portrayal of the Dark Knight, there was a lot of concern that the DCEU star wasn't happy where he was, especially after he decided to step down as the director of The Batman to focus on his role as Batfleck.

Despite all of these reports, Affleck told fans at the DC panel at the San Diego Comic Con last weekend that he's absolutely excited to be part of Matt Reeve's The Batman, gushing about Justice League and how he's proud of the team's work so far.

"Batman is the coolest f*cking part in any universe - DC, Marvel - it's incredible, and I'm so thrilled to do it. I know there's this misconception that because I didn't direct it I wasn't enthusiastic about it; it's f*cking amazing... and with Matt Reeves doing it, it's like I'd be a f*cking ape on the ground for Matt Reeves - nevermindbeing Batman! It's incredible! So I'm really blown away and excited and it's a great time in the DC Universe. You're going to see some stuff from Justice League that we're really really proud of, and I'll think you'll see why I'm really excited to be Batman."

While some fans might not be convinced that Affleck's thrilled to remain as the DCEU's Batman, worried that the Hollywood actor might be saying all these things because of Warner Bros., it's great to hear a little assurance from the DCEU actor.

There's no release date for the Batman just yet, but Justice League makes its big debut on November 17, 2017.
