Avengers: Infinity War’s Sebastian Stan Doubts Bucky’s Return To The MCU

It looks like Chris Evans' Captain America isn't the only Avenger retiring from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the release of Avengers 4 next year. While everyone's been hoping that Steve Roger's best friend Bucky might take on the mantle of Captain America after Avengers 4, Sebastian Stan is now casting doubt on the Winter Soldier's return to the MCU.

After fading into dust in Avengers: Infinity War, Stan told Collider in a recent interview about how he's unsure about Bucky's comeback and participation in Avengers 4.

"When I was shooting anything, nobody ever told me what was part one or part two. The truth is, I don't even know if I'm in [Avengers 4]," the actor told the publication. "What I shot was in part one. And anything that I shot may or may not have been in part one or part two and I still don't know. There were things that we shot that were never gonna' make it because it was easier to just convolute the whole thing."

Still, with or without Bucky, Stan believes that Captain America, Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Black Widow (Scarlet Johannson) and the rest of the Avengers are going to fine trying to bring back those that were massacred by Thanos in Avengers 4.

"You know it's going to deliver on a level that we probably haven't even digested yet. Because that's what they do best," he stressed.

While it's also likely that Bucky will have very little to do in Avengers 4 considering the amount of screen time that was already given him in Infinity War, Bucky's still going to return to the MCU. After all, the Winter Soldier still has his own live-action series together with Anthony Mackie's Falcon set for Disney's upcoming streaming service.

Avengers 4 is set for release on May 3, 2019.
