Avengers: Endgame Actor Thought Dave Bautista Almost Killed Tom Holland On Set

The Marvel cast and crew might have been pretty stressed working on the back to back productions of Joe and Anthony's two-part Avengers movie, but it seems like the team still had time for a bit of fun in between work.

But the fun seemed pretty intense because one day on the set of Avengers: Endgame, Falcon actor Anthony Mackie really thought that the team would have to bury one of their own stars.

Speaking with fans during the 2019 Celebrity Fan Fest last week (via ComicBook.com), Mackie was asked about his favorite moment behind the set of Endgame. The Falcon actor then decided to share a story where he thought Guardians of the Galaxy star Dave Bautista had jokingly beat up Tom Holland so hard that the Spider-Man: Homecoming star couldn't finish filming.

"There was one day we were shooting and Tom Holland was standing behind me," Mackie recollected during the panel at the event. "It was the day when Chris Evans says 'Run' and we all run out to battle so it's all green screen and there's, like, maybe 300 people on set. We had a break in between camera setups and Bautista comes out and he and Tom Holland are talking over my shoulder."

"All of a sudden he does this jump, flying, punch kick move and literally, the stage shook," the Marvel star continues, "I thought he had hit Tom Holland and I was like 'Oh my God, you just killed Tom!' So I turn around and I see Tom sitting there and am like 'Dude, what are you doing?' and Tom's like 'Calm down, he's teaching me a move!' [...] It was the scariest moment of my life. I thought he killed him."

Bautista can be a pretty brawny guy. It barely comes as a surprise seeing Mackie as concerned as he is. Luckily, the wrestler-turned-actor didn't hit Holland at all.

It makes for a good story though. Mackie got a lot of good laughs when he spoke with fans at Celebrity Fan Fest. Right now, everyone's excited to see Mackie take on the Captain America role in the next film that he appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Avengers: Endgame is still screening in cinemas.
