Avengers: Endgame Trolls Spreads Defeminized Edit By Removing Captain Marvel And Man Hugs

Marvel's been making major strides towards diversity and representation with films like Black Panther and Captain Marvel. Films like Avengers: Endgame has also been featuring the power of femininity and emotional connection, showing viewers how men, women, and people of color come together in times of loss and in times of success.

As powerful as this message might be, a small group of fans find themselves uncomfortable with the notion that the heroes in Avengers: Endgame show traits associated with femininity. Now, according to NPR, an anonymous fan has decided to edit the epic comic book movie and "defeminze" the Avengers: Infinity War sequel.

This fan has taken all the time and effort of removing everything seemingly "feminist" or "gay" in the movie. The scenes that this individual has removed from the film includes all of the moments featuring Brie Larson's Captain Marvel. The fan also removed the scene where Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) teaches his daughter to shoot using a bow and arrow because apparently "young women should learn skills to become good wives and mothers and leave the fighting to men."

Black Panther's (Chadwick Boseman) role is also reduced in the fan edit, because "he's not really that important." Spider-Man's (Tom Holland) scene where he gets help from the female heroes in Marvel is also edited out because by now, we know this fan doesn't want any female involvement in the movie. All the man hugs in the film has been removed too.

Now, the pirated and edited version of Endgame is making the rounds online on an illegal streaming site.

It's pretty ridiculous, this fan edit, but somehow there's been this rise in alternative right values, especially among pop culture fans. Star Wars fans did the same thing for Star Wars: The Last Jedi too. What a world we live in.

Avengers: Endgame is screening in cinemas.
