Avengers: Endgame Star Gwyneth Paltrow Posts Heartfelt Message For Robert Downey Jr.

Earlier this week, Gwyneth Paltrow announced her plans to retire from the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the release of Joe and Anthony Russo's highly anticipated Avengers: Endgame. However, while her years as Pepper Potts is coming to an end, the actress continues to pledge her time to her onscreen fiancé, Robert Downey Jr.

Taking to Instagram, Iron Man star Gwyneth Paltrow decided to share a picture of herself with Downey Jr., taking the time to share a touching message for the Avengers actor. Despite her plans to leave the MCU, Paltrow promises the actor that she'll always be there for him, through thick and thin.

"You know I will be this guy's pepper anytime he needs me," Paltrow wrote on her post.

It's a touching message. Just like Downey Jr., Paltrow has been in the MCU for more than a decade, appearing in the first Iron Man film back in 2008. Sure, the actress might have only played a supporting role in the franchise, but she's done a lot for the MCU and fans anticipate her character, Pepper Potts, to take on a more active role in Endgame. Leaks revealed that Paltrow would be suiting up in an armored suit of her own in the Infinity War sequel and many speculate that her character would become Marvel's new R.E.S.C.U.E. for Endgame.

Of course, Pepper's narrative arc is so closely tied to Tony's, so if Endgame is Iron Man's last film, then it's also Peppers.

Avengers: Endgame is set to premiere on April 26, 2019.
