Carol Danvers (Brie Larson) came with a ridiculous amount of power when the hero was introduced in Captain Marvel earlier this year. Not only does Carol have the ability to fight well, but she also has incredible photo energy that can blast through metal, help her fly, and take down entire alien ships from the sky.
Now, Avengers: Endgame directors Joe and Anthony Russo confirmed that Captain Marvel is actually stronger than one of the strongest members of the Avengers: Thor (Chris Hemsworth).
Marvel just recently released Endgame on Digital HD, and in the commentary track for the film (via ComicBook.com), The Russo brothers talk about Captain Marvel's first introduction to the Avengers. In the opening for the Endgame, Captain Marvel joins the Avengers strategy meetings to defeat Thanos. She even goes out into space to save Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and Nebula (Karen Gillan) from dying on the Benatar.
"It's interesting seeing the Avengers with Captain Marvel. I think that she dimensionalizes them in a really great way. Just from a pure power standpoint and what her abilities are," Joe said during the commentary, "If you're talking about a collection of heroes, and you're gonna go face Thanos who we believe still has the gauntlet."
In the scene where Thor tries to subtly intimidate Captain Marvel after she tries to assert dominance in the group, Joe Russo couldn't help but say that Carol Danvers could very well put Asgard's God of Thunder in his place.
"She is as powerful, if not more powerful than Thor, and you suddenly have hope again. Because they all know what happened at the end of the last movie, he walked through them like they were paper," the director added.
Captain Marvel did certainly put one hell of a fight against Thanos in Endgame.
