Avengers: Endgame Box Office Reign Expected To End With John Wick 3’s Release

Avengers: Endgame might have been enjoying the top spot at the global box office the past few weeks, but if industry analysts are proven right, then John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum may very well unseat the Marvel comic book movie.

According to a new report by Variety,John Wick: Chapter 3 is now tracking at a $30 to $34 million opening at the domestic box office which is a pretty solid set of numbers for the summer season. Endgame, on the other hand, is already moving towards its fourth week in cinemas, and the film has been losing its hold on the box office.

The second installment in Joe and Anthony Russo's two-part Avengers movie may have started out strong, but the film's earnings have been dropping the past few weeks as it sees a 57% decline. If this pace continues during the film's third and fourth weekend, Endgame could very well come at about $27.2 million at the domestic box office – a lower haul compared to John Wick's new estimates.

The John Wick franchise hasn't been as commercially successful as compared to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, the films in the action-thriller series have done pretty well against their low budget range.

Wick has become a blockbuster favorite, and now early reviews for the third installment in the franchise point to an entry that makes the film series even greater than it is. Let's wait and see whether Parabellum does better than expected.

Avengers: Endgame is currently screening in cinemas. John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum is set to premiere on May 10.
