It looks like Arrow's John Barrowman is still hoping to someday return to BBC's Doctor Who to reprise his role as the charming Captain Jack Harkness.
Speaking in an interview with Good Morning Britain, Barrowman talks about how grateful he is for the impact that Captain Jack has made him and on Doctor Who fans. Opening up with the publication, the actor admits that he'd be more than willing to return to the Doctor Who franchise – well, that is if BBC has more room for him.
"Listen if they asked me, I'd go back at the drop of the hat, and I've always said that from the day I moved on from Torchwood and Doctor Who to other things. If they asked me, definitely - Captain Jack Harkness changed my life, Doctor Who changed my life. It led to so many other things, and I would love to play Jack again at some point."
Doctor Who fans might remember the beloved supporting character from the modern era of the series. First appearing in 2005, Captain Jack helped Nine (Christopher Eccleston) and Rose Tyler (Bille Piper) stop an alien mind-control epidemic during World War II. Since then the Captain would assist the team from time to time, and at one point the show implied that he and the Face of Bo, an ancient diety appearing in many of the Doctor's adventures, turned out to be the same person.
Captain Jack even made his way to the arcs featuring Ten (David Tennant), though his last appearance came at the episode The End of Time.
The charming time-traveler became so popular among fans, Captain Jack went to receive his own spin-off series, Torchwood, running from 2006 to 2011.
As a former cast-member and a long-time fan of the series, Barrowman has nothing but good words for Jodi Whittaker's take on the Doctor. It'd probably be interesting to see Captain Jack meet with this new Doctor.
