Aquaman’s Jason Momoa Says Henry Cavill’s “Absolutely Not” Leaving The DCEU

There might have been rumors going saying that Man of Steel and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice star Henry Cavill is set to leave his post as the DC Extended Universe's Superman, but according to Aquaman's Jason Momoa these reports are entirely untrue.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight during a red carpet event for his upcoming standalone movie as the DCEU's Arthur Curry, Momoa was asked what his thoughts were on Cavill leaving the franchise. Contrasting his neutral response to the same question at a different event, Momoa told the publication that there was no way that Cavill was done being the Man of Steel.

"I just talked to Henry," Momoa said in his interview with the publication. "He's absolutely not [leaving the role]. He loves the character. He's not. 100 percent. It's absolutely [not happening]."

Reports about Cavill's departure from the DCEU began in September when word came out that the Superman star wouldn't be reprising his role as the franchise's Man of Steel for a cameo in David Sandberg's Shazam!. However, while the rumors started spiraling out of control, neither Warner Brothers nor Cavill confirmed any sort of official departure.

In October, the rumors took on a different face, saying that Warner Brothers had no plan to work on solo films either for Ben Affleck's Dark Knight or Cavill's Man of Steel. Some of the rumors even claimed that the studio was considering recasting the role of Batman.

Now, with Momoa's stance, it seems like these rumors might be off their base. And we're hoping that's the case – Cavill is really suited for his role with his physique and demeanor.
