Aquaman Star Amber Heard Addresses Backlash Against Her Nude Photo On Social Media

Aquaman star Amber Heard just recently shared a semi-nude picture of herself on Instagram and on Twitter, and while a lot of the DC Extended Universe star's fans were wowed by the actress' pride in her body, the internet has had mixed feelings over the image.

Taking part in the #freethenipple movement on social media, Heard decided to share a black and white picture of herself wearing nothing but an open jacket and pants. The #freethenipple movement has been trying to desexualize women's breasts, arguing that while female breasts are often kept covered, nude male chests have been considered acceptable to show in public for decades. Many laws limit women's freedom to show their breasts, even when they're breastfeeding their children.

Heard received a lot of love for her support for the #freethenipple movement, however, La Fille d'O wasn't pleased with the DC star's post, calling on its followers to report the picture as an inappropriate post. La Fille d'O is a company that produces lingerie for women and its social media accounts often post racy content for its followers.

Taking note of La Fille d'O's post, Heard's fans have been fighting back, calling out the company for shaming Heard and for actively supporting a system that encourages shaming women. Heard herself has addressed the backlash.

It can be debated that La Fille d'O is against the #freethenipple movement, perhaps because the company would lose profit if women started giving up wearing bras so that they could free the nipple.
