Ant- Man 3 might not be part of Marvel's roster of films for Phase 4 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, however, the sequel to Ant-Man and the Wasp may turn out to be the most important Marvel movie ahead of Avengers 5.
There might not have been that much news about Ant-Man 3 ever since Marvel announced in April that the script of the upcoming film would be penned by Rick and Morty script writer Jeff Loveness, however, it seems like there's a new update from Charles Murphy.
An anonymous Marvel movie leaker, Murphy has had a proven track record providing insider information to the public about pop culture movies and series. Writing on Murphy's Multiverse, the movie leaker says that Ant-Man 3 has been "rescheduled to begin production in June of 2021 in Atlanta" and that the movie could very well premiere sometime "late 2022 or early 2023."
That's not the only news that Murphy brings, of course. The pop culture insider says that Marvel has adjusted the production date of the film because it hopes to "give the film some room to breathe."
Not only does Marvel hope to give the project some time seeing that they've just hired a new writer for Ant-Man 3, but it seems like the studio has "big plans for the film."
Though Murphy doesn't explain what those plans are, the leaker did previously say that "Ant-Man 3 may serve as the platform on which the Young Avengers assemble."
It doesn't seem too farfetched seeing how fans get to see Scott Lang's (Paul Rudd) daughter, Cassie, all grown up in Avengers: Endgame. In Marvel comics, Cassie eventually becomes a hero of her own, joining the Young Avengers. Having the group assemble in Ant-Man 3 makes sense somehow.
Let's just wait and see whether it ends up happening in the film.
Phase 4 of the MCU begins when Black Widow premieres on November 6, 2020.
