Amber Heard’s Private Investigator Speaks in Defense of Johnny Depp

Pirates of the Caribbean star Johnny Depp and Aquaman actress Amber Heard have been locked in ugly legal battles ever since the couple's divorce in 2017.

Now that Heard has another defamation lawsuit filed against her by her former husband, the actress's private investigator has decided to step forward, revealing that he found nothing against Depp to prove that he was abusive towards women.

Speaking in an interview with the Daily Mail (via International Business Times), private investigator Paul Barresi says that he found no clear evidence of Depp's alleged abusive behavior towards women. Barresi had been hired by Heard's legal team to find other individuals who had been verbally or physically abused by Depp. The legal team wanted these victims to be star witnesses in their case against the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, actor.

While Heard claimed that she had been tormented by the volatile relationship she had with Depp, Barresi couldn't find a single person to stand witness against the actor even though he had interviewed over a hundred people from across the US and the UK who had worked with the Pirates of the Caribbean star within the past three decades.

"I went to the US, France, Italy, Britain, everywhere that Johnny Depp roamed, everywhere he walked, I couldn't find one instance, or at least an admitted one, where he was physically abusive to a woman, smacked or beaten around, he's like an angel," the private investigator said, "Not one who said a deprecating thing. I interviewed dozens of people, who knew him going as far back as three decades ago, and nobody had one bad thing to say about him. In fact, they couldn't say enough about his ever-flowing outpouring of generosity and tender heart."

This anecdote isn't the only evidence that the PI has to offer. Barresi even emails the Daily Mail all the compliments that his interviewees gave when speaking about Depp. Coworkers would call the actor "real sweetie." The director of City of Lies, Brad Furman, calls Depp a "true professional and wonderful human."

Avengers: Infinity War star Paul Bettany has said the same in the past, describing the actor as one of the "sweetest, kindest, gentlest man" that he's ever known.

Are the tides turning in favor of Depp? We can only hope that both parties find the justice that they deserve.
