There’s No Limit to Superhero Movie Plots, Says Civil War’s Boseman, Downey & Russo

The year 2016 is probably the best year so far in superhero or comic book movies.

We've seen Deadpool in February. We're about to see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice this month. Next up is Captain America: Civil War in May 6, then X-Men: Apocalypse on May 22, then Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows on June 3, Suicide Squad on August 5, and Doctor Strange on November 4.

Some may disagree think that these movies' storylines are more or less the same, and while everyone is entitled to their own opinions, Civil War cast Chadwick Boseman and Robert Downey Jr., as well as Director Anthony Russo are explaining why superhero fatigue won't be happening anytime soon.

Buzzfeed's abbottom asked a question and the three answered, all with the same theme.

The Question: "Do you feel there's a limit to the amount of possible plots for superhero movies? Have we reached the limit, or are there many more original and engaging stories to tell?"

Boseman, who plays Black Panther/T'Challa, simply answered that the "possibilities are infinite."

Downey Jr. made a similar retort and concluded with "Sky's the limit."

Meanwhile, Russo opted for a lengthy explanation about proof of how the genre can still be explored in a myriad of possibilities.

Take a look at their answers:

I completely agree. While I used to think that everything is postmodern in this day and age, I'm constantly confronted by highly unique storylines both in the small and the big screen. With such rich characters, content and reference materials, I highly doubt superhero films would end any time soon. There's always room for more.

With Russo's statement, I'm even more excited to see Infinity War Part 1 now than Civil War.
