The Walking Dead's Maggie is Out For Negan's Head This Time

Everyone else in The Walking Deadmay be broken, beaten, or submissive enough to the new bat-wielding tyrant.

But if there was one character who still has hope, even if that hope is potentially dark and full of blood lust, it would have to be the now widowed Maggie.

Maggie actress Lauren Cohan shared with Entertainment Weekly how the turn of events may see a complex evolution in her character.

"You'll see Glenn live on in her... I think that she needs to cope and she needs to push forward. She's trying to do the right thing at this point, and she keeps him in her mind's eye."

Let's not forget that this is the same woman who lost her father to the lesser brute Governor and her sister to an unnecessary gunshot.

So I guess the irony in Maggie and Negan's potential headbutting is the fact that Negan may already have ticked off Maggie's name in the list of people he had to break.

"What Negan's actions do to Maggie is light this crazy fuse. And we'll see that burn pretty strong. I think it's very Glenn that she gets up and insists on taking his body and she wants to protect him and give him a funeral that he deserves... Negan gives Maggie vengeance, and I don't think that she's a vengeful person, but it's going to be a really interested push and pull this season."

I think we all know by now that, if things go the way the comics has gone down, with the creators potentially playing up Maggie's stronger character more, we may be in for a Maggie season following all of Negan's craziness in The Saviors' sanctuary.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays, 9:00 p.m. on AMC.
