The Vision Almost Had A Completely Different MCU Look

Unused designs for the MCU have been of great interest lately, with many fans enjoying what artists originally imagined for our beloved heroes. We've seen a few unused designs for Thor: Ragnarok, all of which were really cool, and now we are treated to a design for The Vision that was pitched as his look for Avengers: Age of Ultron.

As fans ponder what fate befalls The Vision in Avengers: Infinity War, they will be interested to see what artist Ryan Meinerding had in mind for the character. On his Instagram, we see some of Meinerding's alternate designs for Captain America and The Vision. While his designs for Steve are fine, the alternate look for Vision is captivating and pays tribute to John Byrne.

For those unaware, John Byrne's run on West Coast Avengers led to a redesign of The Vision. Byrne gave the synthetic android a sleeker all-white look, which Meinerding added some gold for variety.

While Vision's current design is probably for the best since it evokes his classic look, there is some appeal to this version of the character. Maybe a future Avengers film can adapt the story that leads to Vision's redesign, which also makes him a colder character. Until then, we can only imagine.

Avengers: Infinity War comes out on April 27.
