The Predator Official Synopsis Revealed at CinemaCon

20th Century Fox already shared the first footage from Shane Black's The Predator today at CinemaCon, and according to various reports, it was well-received by the audience. The studio also released an official synopsis at the event, giving us clear information about the film's premise, and the exciting part is that the film includes genetically-enhanced predators!

Check out the official synopsis:

From the outer reaches of space to the small-town streets of suburbia, the hunt comes home in Shane Black's explosive reinvention of the Predator series. Now, the universe's most lethal hunters are stronger, smarter and deadlier than ever before, having genetically upgraded themselves with DNA from other species. When a young boy accidentally triggers their return to Earth, only a ragtag crew of ex-soldiers and a disgruntled science teacher can prevent the end of the human race.

Just when you thought the Predators couldn't be more badass, they break their limits with DNA technology that could genetically upgrade themselves so expect crazy mutations and abilities we haven't seen in previous Predator films before.

This is not a reboot of the series since the upcoming film is confirmed to stay in continuity with the first two Predator films.

Shane Black's The Predator also stars Boyd Holbrook (Logan), Olivia Munn (X-Men: Apocalypse), Trevante Rhodes (Moonlight), Jacob Tremblay (Room), Yvonne Strahovski (Dexter), Alfie Allen (Game of Thrones), and Sterling K. Brown (The People vs. O.J. Simpson, This is Us).

The Predator's script was co-written by Shane Black and Monster Squad co-writer Fred Dekker, and it's set to release in theaters on September 18, 2018.
