The Flash Season 2 Ending May Have Set Up the Return of Black Flash

When Zoom transformed into the Black Flash at the end of season 2 of The Flash, fans have wondered if the series is aiming to adapt DC's Flashpoint storyline.

From the looks of it, this is exactly what the creators are trying to do. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg stated that they have been setting it up since the last season

"Obviously we did that on purpose. We love working with Teddy [Sears]. He's such an amazing actor and amazing person, and was so much a part of the success of this show last season there aren't any immediate plans for that, but you can't keep a good Black Flash down, so I'm sure we'll be seeing him in the future."

While the question was in reference to season 3, it appears that Kreisberg isn't revealing yet if Black Flash will, indeed, in the third season. But given how the events of The Flash second season played out, this is shaping up to be a big possibility.

The Flash season 3 will return to TV on Oct. 4 on The CW.
