The Flash Musical Crossover Will Feature a Very Poignant Villain

The DC TV Universe is seeing a lot of action, as far as The Flash is concerned. Between the expected action- and character-packed return this month, to appearances of earlier characters in other franchises, the expansion of The Flash's world is very much felt.

Now, the expected musical crossover episode between The Flash and Supergirl has received another update. What bad guy will unite the two heroes to defend both their cities? Here's a hint: he has something to do with a song.

Executive producer Greg Berlanti revealed (via Entertainment Weekly) that this villain is none other than Music Meister.

"When we get to the musical episode, both Barry and Kara will find themselves at pivotal crossroads on their respective series. The experience of going through the musical will have a great impact on both series moving forward."

Berlanti also revealed that they are already finishing the script, though casting has not yet been decided. One good question is whether or not the casting crew will choose Neil Patrick Harris, who has already voiced Music Meister in the animated series Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

This isn't such a bad choice, given Harris's experience in both singing and acting in a series. And the playfulness of the Music Meister might just make him the right fit for the role.

How the musical crossover will play out still remains to be seen, script-wise. But from the looks of it, the overall arc will start off in Supergirl and find its resolution in The Flash. Both series will be back on The CW on the same week, with Supergirl returning Jan. 23, Monday and The Flash on Jan 24, Tuesday, both at 8:00 pm.
