The Flash Gets 3 Candidates for Director

Following the latest director departure with Rick Famuyiwa for Warner Bros and DC Comics' The Flash movie, it's clear that the project is still of high interest to directors. So much so that three names have been tagged to the project as shortlisted possible directors.

The first is Kingsman: The Golden Circle director Matthew Vaughn, The Hollywood Reporter stated. Alongside him are two other names, Robert Zemeckis and Sam Raimi, known for their work in Back to the Future and Spider-Man.

However, even with three names vying for the director's chair, EW got in touch with sources who confirmed that Zemeckis was the frontrunner among the three. The other choice is Vaughn, perhaps due to his experience with the hit Kingsman movies.

The choice has its own repercussions, particularly for the shooting schedules of the top two choices. Zemeckis has a Steve Carell movie lined up and ready to shoot starting August. Vaughn, on the other hand, has a third Kingsman movie under his wing once Kingsman: The Golden Circle releases in theaters this fall.

From the looks of it, there are a lot of things that need to be ironed out before anything can be done. For starters, The Flash star Ezra Miller will have his own conflicts with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 2. So far, Joby Harold has already been tapped to rewrite the script altogether, which buys the studio time to find a Famuyiwa's replacement.

Stay tuned for more developments for The Flash.
