The First Teaser For The Punisher Is At The End Credits Of The Defenders

After months of waiting, Marvel Netflix's The Defenders is finally here, and though Jon Bernthal's the Punisher doesn't show up in the series at all, we do get our first trailer for the spinoff right after the credits of the final episode roll. Classic Marvel.

By the looks of the trailer, we'll also be getting some backstory on Frank Castle during his time in the military, and it could answer the question as to why he was such an exceptional soldier—it looks like he was being experimented on during his time of service.

Then again, it's entirely possible that this is someone else's backstory or maybe that's an entirely new organization doing all the torturing. Either way, The Punisher will be delving into some dark and shady stuff, so you can expect scenes like this on a regular viewing.

We still have no full idea on what The Punisher will be about, but we do know that it will explore not only Frank Castle, but also the lives of other soldiers who have come home and are trying to make sense of their world after the war. We should also expect to meet some nasty villains in the series—all lined up for the Punisher's judgement.

No official release date has been announced for The Punisher yet, but you can expect the series to air sometime later this year. You can also check out The Defenders on Netflix while you wait for the release.
