The Batman Script Reportedly To Be Rewritten In Wake of Ben Affleck’s Directorial Resignation

Yesterday, Justice League star Ben Affleck decided to announce that he'd be stepping down as the director of the highly anticipated DC Expanded Universe Batman Solo, The Batman, in order to concentrate on his role as the Dark Knight, and now new reports indicate that the film's script may get rewritten in the wake of Affleck's departure as director of the movie.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Affleck as well as Warner Bros. executives have been unhappy with The Batman script for quite some time after recent interviews with the Justice League star revealed how Affleck had wanted to take time to get the script right. This has led many to believe that The Batman script could get a rewrite to ensure the film's success – Affleck has been rethinking his approach to his film projects right after his most recent film Live by Night flopped at the global box office.

While these new reports of Affleck stepping down from the director's seat and The Batman script getting rewritten may alarm fans, it's better to have the film reworked early on than to have Affleck continue on as director and hand in poor results come the release of the film. Besides, we'll still get to see Affleck in The Batman, but this time simply as producer and star of the movie.
