The Batman Is Reportedly Featuring A Younger Bruce Wayne

There's been a lot of different stories about Ben Affleck and the actor's decision on whether or not he'll stay on as the DC Extended Universe's Dark Knight but it looks like one thing's for sure: Affleck might not be playing the Caped Crusader in Matt Reeve's The Batman.

The Hollywood Reporter just recently released a new article about Walter Hamada, the president of DC Films. While discussing the direction Hamada wants to take DC, THR's article also brought up some of the projects in development with Warner Brothers and it also gave away some new details about the status of The Batman.

According to the entertainment news outlet, Reeves submitted the first act of the film's screenplay during last month's Memorial Day weekend and apparently, the script offered a new take on everyone's favorite vigilante. While many hoped that the film would have Affleck reprising his role as Batman, The Batman's script instead focuses on a younger Bruce Wayne. With this requirement in mind, the report suggests that it's unlikely that Affleck will be playing Batman a fourth time.

Though this new report seemingly confirms the rumors that have been rolling up and down the mill, fans still have to take the news with a grain of salt –after all, Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have both to confirm the report.

The Batman doesn't have a release date just yet but we'll let everyone know as soon as we get word.
