Terminator 6 Starts Filming Early 2018; Arnold Schwarzenegger Still On Board

After the sour reception of Terminator Genisys, James Cameron has decided to go back to the franchise and come up with a new trilogy that will re-invent Terminator. It looks like things are going faster than expected and production for Terminator 6 is said to start early next year.

According to The Playlist, Terminator 6 is aiming for a start of production on March 2018, and franchise regular Arnold Schwarzenegger is said to be on board. Genisys producer David Ellison is signed on as producer, and Deadpool director Tim Miller is being tapped to helm the project.

By the end of Genisys, the franchise had rebooted itself already by pulling a Days of Future Past and erasing the timelines of previous Terminator projects. It also gave Arnie's T-800 an upgrade so that his old look is justified and he comes with some new T-1000 abilities.

It's not clear if James Cameron is going to continue from that point, but a lot of fans weren't really impressed with Jai Courtney and Emila Clarke's takes on the classic characters. Hopefully the man who started the franchise knows what to do with Terminator this time around. As it stands, there are now more bad Terminator movies than good ones.

No official release date has been announced for Terminator 6, but with the production date starting next year, it could be slated for a release on 2019 or 2020.
