Though Tim Miller's Terminator movie may have been delayed, it looks like the film is continuing to progress. We already have McKenzie Davis (Black Mirror) included in the cast, and now news has it that the film has cast its new Terminator.
As per Deadline, Terminator 6 has cast Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Gabriel Luna will play the Terminator who is on the hunt for protagonist Dani Ramos. It's said that the movie still hasn't found someone to play the lead, but it has added the likes of Natalia Reyes and Diego Boneta to the cast.
As for McKenzie Davis' character, her role is said to be parallel to that of Kyle Reese, as she's a soldier-assassin who has been sent on a special mission. With the latest Terminator film, Genisys having recreated a lot of the original scenes from Terminator, I would be happy if Miller and Cameron find a totally new story to bring into the series.
Going back to Luna though, his portrayal of Robbie Reyes is actually pretty fun to watch, and he has that look that makes him threatening but likeable at the same time. Hopefully Cameron and Miller find a way to make his Terminator more threatening than the John Connor version of the latest film. I think the nanobots direction has already been played out. Show us something new!
Terminator 6 is slated for a release on Nov. 22, 2019.
