Tenacious D is Doing a Second Movie!

Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny came out back in 2006 to mixed reviews, but more than a decade later, the film has become a cult classic. During a performance at the Shaky Knees Festival in Atlanta, Jack Black took the time to announce that a second Tenacious D movie is coming our way.

As per myAJC, Black announced that the next Tenacious D movie could be coming out this October. He said:

"I don't know where you'll be able to see it, but we have decided that it's happening and it's coming out."

Last December, Black had announced that the duo were working on releasing a rock opera called Post-Apocalypto, and some fans can't help but think this will be the soundtrack for the next Tenacious D movie. Black had described it:

"We're working on a rock opera… It's a post-apocalyptic musical comedy, and the idea is that you know, you've got Pink Floyd The Wall, and you've got Tommy [by] The Who, and those are the only true rock operas in existence."

…You hear rock opera all the time. There's only two rock operas. Ours is gonna go right there, somewhere in there, and all of the other ‘supposed rock operas' can suck it! ‘Cause they suck."

For a movie coming out in October, you'd think that we would have a trailer by now, but hopefully it gets released sometime soon. The news is already out, and the fans have already started buzzing, so marketing could pick up any minute now.

No official release date has been announced for the second Tenacious D movie, but it's expected to release sometime in October.
