TV Host Says Her Interview With Ben Affleck Is Being Taken Out Of Context

With the news of Harvey Weinstein being fired from his own company for sexual misconduct, even Batman actor Ben Affleck is getting the online shame for an interview he did 13 years ago with Anne-Marie Lisoque where he openly gropes her on air. As it turns out, the interview is being taken out of context, and Lisoque has come out in defense of Affleck.

Talking to THR, Lisoque explains:

"This was for the camera… You have to understand that we have done dozens and dozens of interviews like that. It was for a show I was producing, so I was not at all a victim. When the cameras rolled, we would start to do that game. As soon as it stopped rolling, there was none of that. He never touched me in any improper way. He was very respectful, I must say."

This is the interview in question:

When news of Weinstein's harassments came out, Affleck was quick to release a statement saying:

"I am saddened and angry that a man who I worked with used his position of power to intimidate, sexually harass and manipulate many women over decades."

Hilarie Burton then came out that Affleck, in turn, had groped her breast when they saw each other on MTV's TRL back in 2003. Affleck had apologized for his inappropriate behavior, but the tape with Lisoque had started circulating again afterward.

With the Weinstein firing becoming such a big issue, Lisoque seems to be trying her best to make sure that her interview with Affleck won't be blown too much out of proportion. I have to say, watching the video will definitely get some feathers ruffled if you don't understand the context.

Hopefully Batfleck makes it out of this one clean.
