Suicide Squad Early Screenings Received Some Wildly Positive Reactions

With Suicide Squad next on the slate for the DCEU, all eyes are on the movie, especially with the criticisms over Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Well, a couple of fans were lucky enough to see early screenings of the movie, and it seems like Suicide Squad is something most viewers will enjoy.

Take a look:

It's not just Twitter where the praises poured in. A Reddit user even pointed out how the movie gives a nod to the Batman: The Animated Seriesmythos:

This is the type of movie that demands a sequel. I'm sure critics will find ways to hate it (it's basically a gritty action movie with comic book characters and a Hot Topic aesthetic, which honestly might turn critics off), but DC fans will like it. The BIG thing is that the movie literally saves DCEU Batman. This Batman is BTAS personified.

Meanwhile, another Reddit user highlighted the parts where the movie weakens, chiefly with its villain. The Redditor said:

There were two characters I didn't like. Felt nothing towards them and when they had that so-called emotional scene at the end, nothing. The villain was a big disappointment considering how fresh the idea I thought it was. I still thought it was a very good movie.

It pays to take a grain of salt reading into these reactions, especially since Batman v Superman had the same positive early reactions as well.

All in all though, it appears like Suicide Squad is positively received by early screening viewers. It sure is one of the most unique superhero movies to date. If these reactions are to be taken seriously, it could set a better tone for the whole DCEU franchise from here on out.

Suicide Squad hits theaters on August 5.
