Suicide Squad Director Denies The Craziest Rumor About Joker, Reshot Comedy Scenes

The Joker has always been a mysterious character in the Batman universe. From the lack of a definitive background story to his maniacal burn-the-world philosophy, there's definitely bound to be some theories about his who, what, when, where, how, and why.

Now that the Joker is coming back on the big screen in his craziest-looking version to date, the theory mill has come alive once more. This is especially the case, since it seems possible that Suicide Squad may have some sort of role in the Justice League cinematic universe.

However, one particular theory has already been debunked by Suicide Squad director David Ayer. An interview with the cast and director of the upcoming antihero movie has shot down what was dubbed as the "craziest" rumor for the Clown Prince of Crime.

"That the Joker is Jason Todd. It ain't the case. He's not."

Interviewer Chris Van Vilet also touches on the rumor of how Suicide Squad was supposedly re-shot to give it a "Deadpool comedy effect." To this, Ayer denied such a thing and even called it impossible, as it will not feel natural to have a serious tone one moment and funny the next.

Ayer also reassured fans that the movie has "always been funny and always a lot of fun." The director also touched on one important fact, which he attests as one of the valuable lessons he learned from recent big superhero movies, including Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice:

"The fans decide. You can be a director and you can have your vision, but you have to listen to your fans. It was a good reality check for me. And I think the movie is going to give fans what they want."

This is a pretty reassuring note to go into the movie with considering the way the more recent DC films have turned out. It seems like Suicide Squad is really bringing the A-game to the DC cinematic universe.
