Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition Officially Announced, Has New Features and Modes

When Street Fighter V was first released, the game received a mixed reception from fans and critics alike. Though many praised the graphics and fighting system, the lack of content upon its release resulted in plenty of fan backlash. It seems like Capcom is finally going to address these complaints.

Capcom has officially announced Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition. This version of the game features plenty of new content, including the heavily requested Arcade Mode and an interesting new mode called Extra Battle. The version also promises a number of new features, including a new menu interface, all DLC characters and additional V-Triggers for each character.

V-Triggers gave each character a unique ability that would help them in battle. Ryu, for example, can parry other attacks and charge up his Hadouken. It was a smart way to help the fighters stand out, so giving each of them an additional V-Trigger should help the game feel fresh.

Despite the existence of Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, Capcom was quick to point out that fans will be able to get all the additional content by owning the first version of the game. No double dipping will be needed, though fans can assume that a big patch will have to be downloaded.

Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition will be coming out on January 16, 2018. The basic version of Street Fighter V is available now on PS4 and PC.
