Stranger Things Made Eggo Waffle Sales Go Into A Boom

It looks like Eggo waffles got a lucky spike in sales thanks to Netflix's popular horror-adventure series, Stranger Things.

According to a report by CNN,Stranger Things has helped Kellog's Eggo sales skyrocket ever since it first made its way to Netflix back in July 2016 and it looks like the series has been positively affecting the products sales whenever it releases a new season.

"It sparked conversations. And it prompted consumers to reconsider a long-established brand in new and very contemporary ways," Kellogg Company chief executive Steven Cahillane said when talking about Eggo's popping up in Stranger Things.

However, it seems like people aren't that interested in Kellogg's waffles when a new season of Stranger Things isn't around. Apparently, unlike its 9.4% growth during January to May 2018, around the same time of the release of season 2 of Stranger things, Kelloggs only saw a 1.3% in Eggo sales before that.

It's going to be a while since we're getting the third season of the Duffer brother's ode to the 80's series, so we're not quite sure whether Kellogg is going to see another spike in Eggo sales anytime soon.

Stranger Things season 3 is expected to make its way to Netflix sometime in 2019.
