Stranger Things Comic will Focus on Will Byers' Journey in the Upside Down

We may have to wait a few months (or maybe even a year) before Stranger Things comes back to Netflix, but we could come back to Hawkins, Indiana thanks to Dark Horse Comics.

As per Entertainment Weekly, Dark Horse has partnered up with Netflix to bring Stranger Things to comic form. The deal is said to span a couple of years, and DH president Mike Richardson had this to say about the deal:

"Dark Horse is known for championing stories and storytellers… We are so excited to work with Netflix to bring the world of Stranger Things to comics."

Check out the covers:

The story of the comic is said to focus on Will Byers' journey in the Upside Down. Of course, Will was absent for most of the season, but he was still at the heart of the story in a sense that everyone was looking for him. The comic will probably show us his first reactions when he was taken, and how he finds a way to communicate to his mother from beyond.

Though I think Will's story doesn't really need that much expanding, this will probably keep everyone hyped until the release of the third season. As of now, Stranger Things 3 is still shooting, and we don't have a release date yet. Hopefully the show will be ready in time for Halloween.

Stranger Things #1 comes out Sept. 26.
