Still No Rey Token In US Star Wars Monopoly Games Because Of “Insufficient Interest”

Last year there was a big "Where's Rey" campaign after Hasbro's Star Wars: Monopoly game skipped on adding a Rey token into the boardgame and tough the company has promised to make the figure, it looks like Star Wars monopoly gamers are still waiting for Rey to arrive from far, far away.

Associated Press has been asking around about the Rey figure this week, and while Hasbrohas said that the figure's already been made, the piece wasn't made available for Star Wars Lego sets in the U.S. because of a lack of demand.

"In early 2016, Hasbro updated the 2015 Star Wars: Monopoly game to add a Rey token," Hasbro representative Julie Duffy told the publication by email. "This product was sold to retailers in several markets around the world but is not available for sale in the U.S. due to insufficient interest."

Apparently the company had tried to offer the updated Star Wars Monopoly to retailers in the US, however they decided against receiving the game because they already had enough in their inventory. The Rey piece had been made available in five other markets including France and United Kingdom. Gamers in America who want the Rey figure can ask for it from the company's customer service. Hasbro has reportedly sent 99 Rey tokens to fans who've requested for it in the USA and then 10 in Canada.

While making Rey available to anyone who asks for it is pretty great, fans would love to see Rey right away in the Star Wars: Monopoly game. With so much passion for her character, Hasbro promises that they'll work harder to make her available in Monopoly games on shelves later this year. Let's hope she finally makes it.
