Star Wars: The Last Jedi’s Rotten Tomatoes Score Tumbles Even Lower

Star Wars: The Last Jedi might have received overwhelmingly positive reviews when it premiered in December last year, however, Lucasfilm's newest sequel trilogy installment received a punch from the Star Wars fanbase with an alarming 57 percent audience score from 83,000 audience reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes.

Now it seems like the film's Rotten Tomatoes audience score has tumbled further downward, taking in a 49% audience score at its fourth week in cinemas. It's the lowest audience score ever received by a Star Wars film, much lower than the 57% score of Attack of the Clones. While it isn't a surprise that the audience score would drop after the initial hype of the sequel trilogy installment's been reduced to sober assessments from fans, it seems like The Last Jedi has officially become the most divisive film of the Star Wars franchise.

While others appreciate how the film shook things up by giving a fresh new take on the franchise, it seems like some fans are terribly disappointed with how the film subverted fan expectations. Though the movie managed to deliver a more human and personal story, some were disappointed that Snoke was killed off so early in the sequel trilogy. Others were upset that Rey (Daisy Ridley) turned out to be a nobody. Most were outraged that Luke would be turned from classic benevolent hero to bitter and jaded hermit.

Guess everyone's got their idea of the perfect Star Wars film.
