Star Wars: The Force Awakens has sown the seeds of a different kind of the galaxy far, far away. The movie set up what could be an entirely different take on the rebellion, and one that saw matured versions of the previous heroes in the original trilogy.
But just as The Empire Strikes Back was the darkest of the original threequel, then Star Wars: The Last Jedi my mirror the very same feels—and that's what got us excited.
Actor Oscar Isaac, whom we all met as Poe Dameron in The Force Awakens, reiterates the possibility of exploring this dark side and with just a mention of one suggestive word: crisis.
In an interview with The Guardian, he hints that this movie will explore the weaknesses of some familiar characters, and this will be their testing ground for their true capabilities.
"The characters that you know already: their specific character flaws or their weaknesses get tested. And out of that, I think you get to see a bit more of who they are. The best way to learn about somebody is to see them in a crisis."
I'm interested to know if he is actually pertaining to our new trio, Rey, Finn, and himself. Or if we are going to see some change in beliefs in the remaining character, Luke Skywalker.
It blows that the most we know about Star Wars: The Last Jedi isn't a lot following the trailer reveal, but it does hint of challenges, trials, and tribulations—making the movie after it even something resounding, almost like a new hope.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi will be out during the Christmas season. It stars Isaac with Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Adam Driver, Domhnall Gleeson, Gwendoline Christie, Peter Mayhew, Andy Serkis, Anthony Daniels, Lupita Nyong'o Mark Hamill, Benicio Del Toro, Kelly Marie Tran, Laura Dern, and Carrie Fisher.
