Star Wars fans had it good this week. Not only did Lucasfilm start ticket sales to Star Wars: The Last Jedi, the studio also rolled out the first full trailer for the highly anticipated sequel trilogy installment.

The Star Wars community has been waiting for the trailer for months, hoping that the promo would drop at conventions like this year’s San Diego Comic-Con and Disney’s D23.

However, the studio decided to release the promo during the Monday Night Football halftime last Monday, and with anticipation running high after the seemingly endless wait, the official trailer for The Last Jedi has become one of the most viewed trailers for Lucasfilm.

According to a post on the official Star Wars website, The Last Jedi’s trailer was viewed more than 120.1 million times across the globe during the first day of its release. That number gives the promo 29.1 million more views than The Last Jedi’s teaser video which rolled out during this year’s Star Wars Celebration, setting a new record for Lucasfilm.

The trailer’s viewing number is also much higher than the record held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The trailer of The Last Jedi’s predecessor only got 88 million views during the first 24 hours of its release.  Guess Star Wars fans are just really eager to see more of The Last Jedi.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres December 15, 2017.
