Star Wars The Last Jedi: This Is What The Porgs Sound Like

Though he was absent for most of The Force Awakens, Luke Skywalker will be getting the spotlight in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and we'll be meeting some of his island companions in the form of "porgs." We've been getting some glimpses of the creatures here and there, and a new toy leak gives us a clue on what sounds they make when we see them on the big screen.

There's also a short description of them on the box (via Star Wars News Net):

Small, flat-muzzled avians that flock about the rocks and roost in the cliffs [of] Luke Skywalker's secluded island, porgs are inquisitive creatures.

By the looks of it, the porgs will be filling in the role of BB-8 from The Force Awakens in the sense that they will be the cute mascot that encourages kids to buy the new stuffed toys of them. The same criticism can be said about the ewoks from Return of the Jedi, but at least we can assume that these porgs won't make the First Order forces look incompetent.

Love them or hate them, the porgs are yet another reminder that Star Wars is another franchise that is fun for both kids and adults. Sure there's some heavy action and cool special effects for the older fans, but the younger fans will also love Star Wars for the humor and the cute creatures.

Watch the porgs make their debut in Star Wars: The Last Jedi when it hits theaters Dec. 15.
