Star Wars The Last Jedi: New Evil Droid BB-9E Introduced

A new evil droid has been revealed for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, and it is much cuter than it should be. BB-9E is part of the First Order, and is essentially a black mirror version of the beloved BB-8. The droid was just unveiled as part of the many toys from Force Friday II, and it should get a lot of fan speculation.

BB-9E will be a new app-enable droid, along with it's nicer counterpart BB-8 and everyone's favorite droid R2-D2. Each of these droids will be powered by the Sphero App-Enabled Droids app. According to the official Star Wars website, fans will also be able to "roam through iconic ship interiors and memorable locations," through augmented reality and the Droid Trainer accessory.

Fans expecting to find out about the role BB-9E plays in Star Wars: The Last Jedi are out of luck, so we will have to wait till the movie comes out. The official description from the Star Wars website calls him "The First Order's rolling menace," but doesn't really go beyond that vague description. Here is hoping that BB-9E is a good addition to the First Order.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters on December 15. Expect BB-9E and a number of other new character to make their debut in this film. We will also see the return of Rey, Finn and Poe Dameron.
