Star Wars: The Last Jedi Making Its Way To Top 10 Highest-Grossing Box Office Hits

Traditional Star Wars fans might have a long list complaints against Star Wars: The Last Jedi, however, it seems like the film continues to reach milestone after milestone at the global box office.

Lucasfilm's newest sequel trilogy installment is making its way to the top of the list of the highest-grossing films of all time. Raking in an estimated total of $1.22 billion at the global box office, The Last Jedi successfully nudged Iron Man 3 out of its #12 spot in cinemas list of highest-grossing films.

To get to the number ten mark, The Last Jedi has to beat The Fate of the Furious' $1.23 billion earnings, and then Beauty And The Beasts $1.26 billion haul. It might take a while but theThe Last Jedi is still on its fourth weekend, and it has a lot of time to earn more in the global market.

Analysts predict that The Force Awakens sequel might end its run with a total of $1.6 billion despite the film's poor performance in China which came in second to a local comedy film, The Ex-File 3. China might be the second-largest worldwide box office market, however, the country seems to have very little history with Star Wars films.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi is currently screening in cinemas.
