Star Wars The Last Jedi: Carrie Fisher’s Daughter Billie Lourd Will Have A More Prominent Role

Though we got to see a little of Carrie Fisher's daughter Billie Lourd in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, she didn't really make that big of an impact onscreen. With Star Wars: The Last Jedi however, it seems we'll be seeing more of Lourd's Lt. Kaydel Ko Connix.

In an interview with E!, Mark Hamill confirms that Lourd will be having a much larger role this time around. We also hear him sing his praises on Lourd's talent and how much of her personality resembles her mother as well as her grandmother Debbie Reynolds.

Though it was said that Fisher's role wouldn't be altered in The Last Jedi, I can't help but feel that Lourd's expanded role was because of her mother's passing. Then again, it's possible that Connix just has more to do this time around. Lourd is an accomplished actress in her own right, and I would love to see more of her in Star Wars.

As for the character herself, we don't really know much about Connix other than the fact that she's a communications officer for the Resistance. Knowing Star Wars however, an expanded story for Lt. Connix may just find its way to a book, or an animated series, or a comic.

Lt. Connix returns in Star Wars: The Last Jedi on Dec. 15.
