Star Wars: The Force Awakens Is Done With Its Theatrical Run, and the Box Office Results Are Huge

Star Wars: The Force Awakens' home release took place months ago, but apparently, the movie just finished its theatrical run this week. That's nearly six months following its debut back in December last year.

It's a huge deal considering most films' theatrical runs usually end after a month. That said, we can now learn just how much of a success The Force Awakens is in box office terms, and we're expecting it to be enormous.

Well, according to Box Office Mojo, Star Wars: The Force Awakens took home a total of $936,662,225 in sales. The movie is now over $150 million ahead of the U.S. second highest grossing film of all time – James Cameron's Avatar.

It's not really surprising considering the success the film has had since being released in December 2015. The movie broke just about all kinds of box office records in every corner of the world, most especially the Unites States.

The Force is definitely strong with this one, as well as its fans. The movie wouldn't really be this much of a success without its awesome fans.
