Star Wars: SDCC 2018 Poster Brings Together Three Generations

Though we're not really expecting any huge Star Wars reveals at the San Diego Comic-Con this year, that doesn't mean that the franchise will be completely absent. Lucasfilm has unveiled their Legacy poster for SDCC 2018, and it brings together three generations of Skywalkers.

Granted there's only limited space for the posters, some significant characters in the franchise didn't make it to the final poster. Lando, Finn, Rose, and Poe Dameron are no shows, but we do have this nice side-by-side of Luke and Leia. Plus I like seeing a young Obi-Wan next to Qui-Gon Jinn.

As expected some fans have already expressed their disdain for not showing all the characters, but this piece looks to be focusing on the Legacy of the Skywalkers. I kind of love how Kylo and Anakin look like mirrors of each other with Vader right in the middle.

For now, we should expect a long wait until the next Star Wars movie to come out. Originally set to come out in May 2019, the firing of Trevorrow has led the release of Episode IX to be moved to the end of the year.

Some fans are actually happy about this. With May being dominated by other box office giants like The Avengers and other blockbusters, a December release date gives Star Wars the space to dominate—not to mention toy sales will be at an all time high because of Christmas.

Catch Star Wars Episode IX in theaters Dec. 20, 2019.
