Star Wars Rebels Voice Actress Reveals The Improbability of Relationship Between Sabine and Ezra

The next episode of Star Wars Rebels season 3 is going to focus on the spirited Sabine Wren and it looks like the series is going to put the young Mandalorian to the test as her voice actress reveals how the Ghost member might be swayed by the responsibilities she owes to her people.

In an interview with New York Daily News yesterday, voice actress Tiya Sicar talks about the fate of Sabine in the next few episodes of Star Wars Rebels and the relationships the young Mandalorian fighter have in the Ghost Crew. It turns out that Ezra isn't the only one struggling in DisneyXD's thrilling Star Wars animated series – Sabine has conflicts of her own, and in Trials of the Darksaber, we'll be able to see the Mandalorian's loyalties tested.

"She suddenly has responsibilities to other people that we haven't seen yet and she probably hasn't had to answer for a long time. So, she's being pulled in different directions this season," Sicar explained. "She's got more of a leadership role as it is, but suddenly she's being tested in ways that we haven't seen her being tested."

Sicar also talks about Sabine's relationship with Ezra, dashing out fans hopes that the two might get together in Star Wars Rebels.

"of course, over Season 1, she became more accepting of his presence and then over Season 2 … she no longer dismisses him. they're peers and family now," the voice actress explained. "I know that (executive producer) Dave Filoni thinks that why, because there's a young female character and a young male character, they must eventually have a romantic relationship?" she says. "It doesn't always have to go that way. And I kind of love that too."

While this may be disappointing for a few who had been expecting some sort of romance between the two, it's no surprise that Filoni and the writers at Rebels would rather keep the two as "family." After all, there has never been any real romantic build-up between Sabine and Ezra in the series. Unless they'll change their minds and start working on that now that is.

Star Wars Rebels airs every Saturday on DisneyXD at 8:30 pm.
