Star Wars Rebels: Starkiller From The Force Unleashed Game Could Have Been In The Series As An Inquisitor

With Disney's acquisition of Lucasfilm, it was decided that the expanded universe was going to be defunct in order to make way for new stories in the future. Star Wars Rebels has been trying its best to bring back some characters from the Legends lore like Grand Admiral Thrawn, but news has it that Starkiller, the protagonist for The Force Unleashed games, was very close to making an appearance in the show as well.

During a Twitch stream (via ComicBook), Sam Witwer, the voice of Darth Maul, reveals that showrunner Dave Filoni has plans to introduce Starkiller to the official canon. He says:

"Dave did share with me, by the way, he considered making Starkiller an Inquisitor in Star Wars Rebels… It didn't quite fit the story that they were telling, but he did think about it because he thought that would be interesting."

With Starkiller's origin as Darth Vader's secret apprentice, it would make sense that he would be a member of the Inquisitors. With Rebels already entering its last season, however, it looks like every opportunity to re-introduce Starkiller—at least in Rebels—has already gone.

Starkiller a.k.a. Galen Marek has a very interesting story in The Force Unleashed, and the good ending [SPOILER] will have him die and become an integral part in the forming of the Rebel Alliance. I could still see several opportunities to have him in the universe, but for now it looks like he'll have to stay where he is in Legends.

Star Wars Rebels returns to Disney XD this coming fall.
