If there's one other iconic face and name that has been linked to the Star Wars franchise besides the three bigwigs, it would have to be Ewan McGregor. If there was anything great about the first three episodes (chronologically), it would have to be his casting as Obi-Wan Kenobi.
That's probably why, each time, he still gets asked the question of what he thinks about going back to do a Star Wars movie and reprise his role. This happened once again, this time during the Jimmy Kimmel Live (seen below), to which he responded:
"I've been asked this question so many times, and I answer the questions when I'm asked them because I've been brought up like that, polite. And it's gotten to the point where it looks like I'm touting for work at Disney's front door. Like, ‘Give me the Obi-Wan spinoff,' you know."
Still, joking aside, McGregor did say that he would be "happy to do it." But the ultimate decision lies with Disney and Lucasfilms. Because as much as McGregor would want to reprise his role, it is dependent on an official offer from the companies.
Here's to hoping that McGregor can echo fans' wishes for a role reprisal somehow, in some form, to get a Star Wars spin-off. Are you down for this idea? Sound off below.
