Star Wars: More Expanded Universe Characters Teased For Future Projects

When Disney and Lucasfilm stated that the Expanded Universe of Star Wars would no longer be canon, fans were devastated. Stories from that era have been rebranded as "Legends," so that the current trilogy could start with a clean slate. However, there has been a recent effort to bring in more characters from the Expanded Universe/Legends, with some characters appearing in other media like Grand Admiral Thrawn in Rebels.

Now that Tag and Bink have been confirmed for Solo: A Star Wars Story, fans have wondered if they will see more characters from the Extended Universe soon. Thanks to a Tweet from Lucasfilm Story Group member Leland Chee, it looks like we will be seeing more of these familiar characters in the near future, which is always exciting.

Answering a question from a fan who misses the Extended Universe, Chee stated that more characters from the defunct universe would be appearing in Star Wars media soon. No information was given on the possible new characters or what media but fans of these stories should be happy to see this. It definitely makes future projects more interesting.

Star Wars: Rebels is set to end soon, though this likely won't be the last animated series under the popular license. Whatever project is next, we will hopefully see familiar faces from the formerly canon Extended Universe.
