Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic & Mass Effect Writer Returns To BioWare

Drew Karpyshyn, writer of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, Star Wars: The Old Republic, and the first two Mass Effect games, has returned to BioWare.

Karpyshyn orginally left videogame developer to focus on his trilogy of fantasy novels, titled Chaos Reborn, and announced his return just ahead of the series' final installment, Chaos Unleashed.

"Working at BioWare was a challenging but very rewarding job, and it's good to be back as part of the team," Karpyshn wrote on his blog. "The thing I missed most about BioWare was the amazing people I got to work with, and luckily for me many of them are still there!"

Karpyshn will return to write for The Old Republic MMORPG.

"I suspect a lot of folks are going to wonder if this means BioWare is about to announce a new project tied to my return," he added. "The short answer: no. I originally came to the Austin studio many years ago to work on SWTOR and – at least for now – that's what I'm focusing on again."

These videogames Karpyshyn wrote had some of the most compelling stories I enjoyed, and I hope he'll work on another Knights of the Old Repulic game in the near future.
