Star Wars fans have a lot to look forward from the galaxy far, far away. Not only has Lucasfilm has been expanding the Star Wars franchise with a new sequel trilogy and a set of standalone films, the studio has also been adding in quite a number of novels and comics as well.

According to a report by Star Wars News, Samuel L. Jackson's violet saber-wielding Jedi Mace Windu is getting his very own Marvel comicbook series. Titled Star Wars: Jedi of the Republic- Mace Windu, the series is to be written by Matt Owens and then illustrated by Denys Cowan. Spanning along 5 issues, the comicbook will feature Mace Windu during The Clone Wars formative period.

Here's the official synopsis of Mace Windu:

For over a thousand generations, the Jedi have been the peacekeepers of the galaxy…but now, at the dawn of the Clone Wars, they find themselves in a new role: generals in the Army of the Republic. As Mace Windu, one of the Jedi's greatest warriors, leads a small unit of Jedi into battle shortly after the war begins, the Jedi must make peace with their new role, or be lost to the violence around them!

Mace Windu releases on August 2017.
