Star Wars: Jango Fett Actor Wants To Play An Older Captain Rex In Live-Action

It's been 15 years since Temuera Morrison played Jango Fett in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, but he remains to be the face of one (or several) of the franchise's favorite characters—Jango Fett. Looking back at the role, Morrison says he's up to return to the franchise, and he wants to play former Clone trooper Captain Rex.

In an interview with StarWars.com, Morrison admits:

"Then, of course, there's Captain Rex, who's an iconic character. I've also voiced various games. What'll make me really happy is if I get the phone call asking me to play another character – an older Captain Rex or something. I want to pop in on one of these new ones, that would be great. Suggest it to them for me! Let's get on to it!"

With a lot of other Star Wars anthology movies happening close to the prequel era, I can imagine Morrison coming back to play Captain Rex. The character has remained a fan favorite over the years, and he's been able to make the transition from Clone Wars to Rebels no problem. I don't see why Rex can't be in a movie—and Morisson would be perfect to reprise the role of a clone!

I can't imagine Rex popping up in the sequel trilogy, but I can see him appearing in the Han Solo spinoff, the solo Obi-Wan movie, or the Boba Fett ensemble film. Heck, if Morrison can't play Rex, they should at least tap him to reprise Boba. He's Jango's clone for chrissakes!

We don't know when or if Morrison is returning to Star Wars, but a lot of fans would definitely be happy to see him return.
