Star Wars: First Look At Thrawn Prequel Comic

A lot of fans celebrated when Grand Admiral Thrawn was inducted to Star Wars canon, and with Star Wars Rebels nearing the end of its run, the Lucasfilm story group has decided to expand Thrawn's story through the comics. Thanks to StarWars.com, we have our first sneak peek at the pages of Thrawn.

Check it out:

Marvel's Thrawn, a six-issue adaptation of Timothy Zahn's novel of the same name, kicks off on February 7, 2018, and will document the iconic Imperial's rise in the Empire — before he was a legend. Written by Jody Houser (Marvel's Rogue One adaptation) and illustrated by Luke Ross (Star Wars: Darth Maul, Marvel's Star Wars: The Force Awakens adaptation), the series will also include never-before-revealed scenes featuring the infamous master strategist.

The art looks amazing, and I'm sure fans who aren't so keen in reading the books will love going through Thrawn's story in comic book form.

Though the Empire is known for hiring only humans among their ranks, Grand Admiral Thrawn has managed to exceed expectations by being the only high-ranking Chiss in the Empire. He is calculating and ruthless, and he is someone who genuinely believes in the mission of the Imperials.

Though Thrawn gets all the attention in Rebels as well as the books, I still can't wait till we see a live action version of him in a film. With Rian Johnson starting his own separate Star Wars trilogy from the Skywalkers, I'd like to see Thrawn making an appearance in one way or another. I know the fans would go crazy over it.

Thrawn the comic's first issue comes out on Feb. 7, 2018.
